Preliminary Exercise 1: Ferdinand de Saussure's Semiotics Theory Analysis

Semiotics is the study of signs and symbols and their use or interpretation. Ferdinand de Saussure was semiotician and philosopher. He theorized that a sign is made up of two parts, the signifier and the signified. The signifier is the physical appearance of the sign, such as a word, image, or sound, while the signified is the concept or meaning associated with the signifier. His theory is beneficial to the research of a fil because it provides a understanding and framework to the film. My table illustrates my analysis because it shows examples of his theory.

Reflection

This power-point presentation is to show examples of Ferdinand de Saussure's theory. I used a computer to do and finish these slides. On power-point I used smart art to access a table and google to copy and paste the photos on the slides. I think I'm in between a intermediate and a expert because there's still some things I need to learn how to do on power-point but it's not new to me. I didn't have a partner or team to complete this assignment, I did it independently. From this exercise, I learn about Ferdinand de Saussure's theory and how it's everywhere.
