Preliminary Exercise 3: What is Mise en Scene?

Mise en scene is the stage design and arrangemnet of actors in scenes for a theatre of film production. This allows the director to not only convey their message but also to implement their aesthetic. It communicates the meaning to the audience about characters, their inner lives, and the world they live in. The elements of Mise en scene is setting, acting, costume, hair and makeup, color, set design, composition, and lighting. The movie I chose is Us. It's a visceral, intense film produced by Jordan Peele.

Reflection

This activity was to make a graphic organizer conveying the elements of mise en scene, picking a movie no later than 2019 to present. I picking images for that movie that have the elements shown. I used the tools on power-point to finish this assignment. Mainly SMARTART and insert shapes. On this activity, I think I'm an expert because I've done things like this before and it's not new to me. In this exercise I learned about the elements of mise en scene and the example of it being shown in tis film.
